Dear .,

Would you know what to do if a disaster struck?

Hurricane Joaquin is now moving north after striking the Bahamas with heavy rain and winds. The latest forecasts are calling for it to drift out to sea, but the outer reaches of the storm could still batter the east coast with rain and wind.

I, along with the rest of IFAW’s Disaster Response team, have been closely watching Joaquin – just like we did with Hurricanes Sandy, Katrina, and many other storms.

We know what to do when a natural disaster strikes. Do you?

To help you get ready, I’ve put together a Disaster Preparedness Checklist for you. Please review it and make sure you’re ready in case disaster strikes.

I’m hoping Hurricane Joaquin continues to move out to sea. But I’m mobilizing IFAW’s teams and trucks just in case we need to rush in to help animals and people impacted by the storm’s rain and wind.

If our teams do deploy to help animals, I’ll be sure to update you.

In the meantime, please take a few moments to read the Disaster Preparedness Checklist.

Be safe,

Worried about Donating online?

I used to be too… so I made sure our online system is safe, secure, and state-of-the-art. It also eliminates check-processing costs, so more money goes directly to saving animals. But if you prefer to donate by phone or mail, simply click here for address information.
